Satellite Fleet

HISPASAT communication satellites are located in three orbital positions: a Trans Atlantic position at 30º West, in which three satellites are located: Hispasat 1C , 1D and Spainsat; an American position at 61º West, in which the Amazonas 1 satellite is located; and an oriental position at 29º East, in which the Xtar-Eur satellite is located.
In 2009, a new satellite Amazonas 2 will added to the fleet. Actually, Amazonas 2 is in proccess of construction.

The high power offered by the satellites, which form part of the HISPASAT system, allows for optimum coverage with the highest degree of flexibility in America, Europe and North Africa. They are clearly situated as the ideal tool for all types of satellite communication services. HISPASAT has thus consolidated its position as the satellite system offering the best coverage in Spain and Portugal and as the leading operator in Latin America, offering exceptional coverage over the American continent. Furthermore, the Trans Atlantic capacity of its satellites offers simultaneous coverage in all of the countries on the American continent.

European Coverage

European coverage goes from the Canary Islands to a large part of Russia and from Scandinavia to North Africa. Space capacity can be optimised to the maximum within this coverage zone, adapting it to the special operating needs of the client.

American Coverage

American coverage goes from Canada to Tierra del Fuego. Within this coverage zone, the HISPASAT system has high capacity America – America links and offers its existing and future clients full connectivity between Europe and America.
