PARTICIPATION IN FORUMS AND FAIRS

FORUMS

Spanish Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Society (SETSI)

HISPASAT maintains a close relationship with SETSI, bilaterally and in preparatory multilateral meetings in international conferences and forums that affect the company. In 2014, HISPASAT attended meetings focused on establishing a national position with regard to future common European proposals for the next World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-15).


The Brazilian National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL)

In Brazil, HISPASAT attended sessions of the Rapporteur Group on Radiocommunication 2 – Satellite services (GRR2), organised by the Agency.


International Telecommunication Union (ITU)

  • > ITU Council. HISPASAT, as member of the radio communication sector and a satellite operator governed by Spanish law, was invited by the Spanish government to participate in the ITU Council, which constitutes the highest body of the organisation.
  • > Radiocommunication Group Advisor and Special Regulation Committee.
  • > The WP4A Group, for the efficient use of the spectrum orbit, for fixed satellite service and satellite radio-broadcasting service.
  • > Joint Task Group JTG 4567 of the ITU to develop sharing studies on IMT requirements, including the analysis of the frequency range and the impact on the C band used by geostationary satellites.

Inter-American Telecommunication Commission (CITEL)

HISPASAT Group participates in the Radiocommunication Committee (including radio broadcasting) PCC-II and in the Permanent Directive Committee (COM-CITEL).

European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT)

The company participates in the Electronic Communications Committee (ECC) and the Conference Preparatory Group (CPG) and its working groups.


Hispanic-American Association of Research Centres and Telecommunication Enterprises (AHCIET)

As an associate member of the Council, HISPASAT actively participates in their projects, primarily in the General Assembly, the Governing Board, Regulatory Commission and operators’ meetings.


European Satellite Operators Association (ESOA)

HISPASAT has collaborated on Council activities and in the association’s working groups. They participate periodically in meetings with the EU’s European Commission.


Association of Electronics and Information Technology Companies (AMETIC)

They participate in activities related to the specific field of operators.


National Union of Satellite Telecommunication Companies of Brazil (SINDISAT)

Through HISPAMAR, HISPASAT forms part of the management of the union, actively participating in its working groups, which establish commentary together on ANATEL’s public consultations, among other activities.


Brazilian Association of Satellite Companies (ABRASAT)

As a member of the association, HISPAMAR forms part of its management and actively participates in its activities.

Fairs

HISPASAT Group has been present in the sector’s most important events, strengthening its commercial activities and the Group’s image.

In Europe, HISPASAT participated in a new edition of the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC), which is held annually in Amsterdam in September. The Group displayed the technical improvements it had made to its 4K television channel for the European continent, as well as its initiative to connect all home devices, SAT>IP. Moreover, the company has continued to attend different events in Europe, such as the VSAT in London or the Anga Com in Cologne, Germany.

In the Americas, HISPASAT Group participated in the Washington Satellite Show and the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) Show in Las Vegas. Of particular note is been the company’s participation in the most important events in Latin America, such as the International Technology Fair on Equipment and Services for Television Engineering in Sao Paulo, the Latin American Satellite Conference in Rio de Janeiro, Andicom (the International ICT Conference in the Andean region) held in Colombia, and in Futurecom, the most important ICT event in Latin America. Furthermore, they participated in LATSAT in its first year, held in Mexico City.

In the Asian market, the Group has once again attended CABSAT, held in Dubai. It is considered the most important event in the region with an attendance of more than 22,000 professionals from the sector.

At the national level, HISPASAT attended Broadcast Madrid in 2014. During this event they provided a live demonstration of the ultra-high definition channel, and at the same time the company also participated in the conferences of the most important event held on the Iberian Peninsula.

Also in Spain, HISPASAT continued to collaborate with the main installer associations for training-related activities, and participated in the annual meeting of the National Federation of Telecommunication Installers (FENITEL), which took place in Burgos that year.
