Future Satellites

Hispasat 36W-1(Hispasat AG1)

The Hispasat 36W-1 (Hispasat AG1) satellite continues to reach its major milestones. In 2015, initial functional tests were completed in Bremen and afterwards the satellite was sent to IABG facilities in Munich. There, the rest of the activities were carried out until the satellite was finished.

The year finished satisfactorily with vibration testing. The mechanical test campaign will be completed in 2016, which will then be followed by thermal vacuum testing, compact range antenna testing and final functional tests.

Hispasat 30W-6(Hispasat 1F)and Amazonas 5

In 2015 the Hispasat 30W-6 (Hispasat 1F) and Amazonas 5 satellites completed critical design revisions, after which they were able to proceed with the integration and testing of their respective payloads. In the first quarter of 2016, the payload testing phase and the phases related to the platforms on the two satellites will be completed. This will allow all satellite tests to be carried out through till the end of 2016.

The selection process for the launch service of Hispasat 30W-6 (Hispasat 1F) and Amazonas 5 finished with the award of two contracts: one for ILS (Proton M-Breeze M) and the other for SpaceX (Falcon 9). Next year HISPASAT will decide which launch vehicle will be used for each satellite.
