HISPASAT offers Internet and Internet VNO access services to the corporate and government market, services which are also available to the operators market.
The emergence of the Internet of Things, which encompasses all systems, sensors, and objects connected to the web, has led to the use of satellites for other backhaul technologies, such as telemetry and telecontrol services.
Space-capacity services for mobility are divided into three main groups in relation to each one’s market goals:
> Maritime: for commercial vessels, fishing boats, oil platforms, etc.
> Terrestrial: trains, buses and other ground transport.
> Aeronautical: commercial and military airplanes, UAVs and helicopters.
In each market, space capacity has a variety of uses, the most common of which include Internet access services, corporate services, voice, video, emergency communications, telemetry and remote control. This service can be offered in VNO mode for rail and maritime markets.
To complement the VNO platform for mobility services, HISPASAT, along with several strategic partners, has developed Go Mobile, an advanced platform including different services oriented towards train and commercial vessel operators that require a turnkey product with a complete service proposal:
• Internet access: Combined with other 3G technologies if available (in trains, for example).
• VoD: Videos on Demand stored on internal servers that are updated periodically.
• Multicast video: TV channels broadcasted via satellite in IP to be distributed to passengers.
• Voice: Cellular backhaul and mobility. Different solutions based on the scenario (terrestrial, maritime).
• Corporate services and security: Emergency networks, corporate VPNs, etc.
• Services portal: Enables access, payment and management of content by end users.
The satellites play a key role in emergency scenarios. The capacity to deploy critical communications services so quickly and easily during disasters makes the satellite as an ideal vehicle for this type of services.
HISPASAT offers its services in this context to restore the communications in case of disaster: IP trunking or Internet access , network backhauling emergency terrestrial and communications for mobile media involved in the emergency (land, air and sea).
Based on bundling a HISPASAT platform broadband terminal and an easy deploy antenna. This solution is ideal for terrestrial network backhauling such as Tetra or WIMAX, as well as offering connectivity to advanced control points when managing catastrophes such as forest fires, earthquakes, floods, etc.
