HISPASAT satellites offer network operators the possibility of creating high-capacity trunk links. The availability of these links is ensured through the monitoring systems at the company’s control centres.
This service provides back-up links that ensure uninterrupted communications service if the nominal system fails, in cases of natural disasters or local conflicts (where the terrestrial communications infrastructure becomes disabled), or when there is network congestion due to a temporary increase in the volume of content being transported.
Activation of back-up links is done through an IP transport network, supported by HISPASAT broadband platforms
HISPASAT offers mobile telephone network operators flexibility to deploy their networks in time- and cost-efficient ways, connecting via satellite to remote or inaccessible locations. The solution allows for optimisation of the time spent on extending networks typically required for a cellular network.
The number of base stations that can be connected is easily scalable, and the solution can be adapted to the different network needs of each client.
In some cases, the high availability requirements for some backhauling services, especially for voice, make it difficult to implement solutions in only one frequency band (Ka), especially for regions with high levels of rainfall. In order to provide these services, HISPASAT offers a backhaul hybrid solution that combines Ku and Ka bands.
A communications link via satellite can be used by telecommunications operators to gain direct and secure access to the Internet’s trunk network, offering broadband connectivity to clients:
Based on a Virtual Network Operator model:
Once registered on the company platform, the client can offer multiple users advanced applications such as TV, multicast data, voice over IP and video conference.
