First debate on space at MWC

Hispasat has promoted, in collaboration with MWCapital, the first debate on space within the framework of this fair. “Space, an immediate tool for connectivity and security”, to be presented by Jordi Hereu, President of Hispasat, and Eduard Martín, CIO and Director of Intelligent Connectivity at MWCapital. It will feature the participation of Miguel Belló, coordinator of Perte Aeroespacial, and Miguel Ángel Panduro, CEO of Hispasat, moderated by Ana Molina, Director of Strategy. This debate will take place on Wednesday 1 March at 3:00 pm at the MWCapital stand (4G100 - HALL 6).

Internet access in rural areas

The stand demonstrates a real-life 100 Mbps satellite Internet connection that is now available across the entire Spanish territory. This technology ensures universal connectivity, with the aim of bridging the digital divide in rural, remote and sparsely populated areas throughout the territory.

Digital transformation and 5G

It also presents the developments it is making in the Green Engine project, the largest forestation and emissions compensation initiative in Spain, in which it collaborates as a technological partner with Fundación Repsol and Sylvestris. Satellite connectivity enables innovative and robust solutions to be deployed in forest environments offering analysis including tree growth monitoring, fire prevention and early detection, video camera surveillance. All this collected data will be analysed and integrated with Earth observation images in a data platform developed by Elewit, Redeia's technology platform.

Also on display are the latest projects that Hispasat is carrying out in the integration of 5G networks and in the extension of cellular networks via satellite, a business in which Hispasat already connects more than 3,000 base stations in Latin America.
