Hispasat provides TV and radio distribution services within the coverage of all its satellites and on any of its connectivity options: Europe-Europe, America-America, Europe-America, and America-Europe.
In distribution services, content, once received and processed at the satellite transmission center, is broadcast via satellite for subsequent reception and dissemination through terrestrial networks: UHF/VHF, cable systems, microwave systems, etc.
Hispasat, together with its partners, provides transmission services that can combine satellite technology with terrestrial technologies, enabling high-quality, high-availability service to its customers.
Hispasat satellites can complement the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) services offered through the UHF networks of radio and television broadcasting centers for: the distribution (transport) of the DTT signal to the terrestrial transmitter network, and the broadcast of the television signal to homes in white coverage areas.
The service focused on the distribution of the TV signal to the terrestrial transmitter network is detailed below:
Hispasat has two teleports for channel distribution, strategically located in Lurín, Peru, and Cologne, Germany. These centers are recognized for their advanced technology and redundancy:
Lurín, Peru Teleport: certified with the highest "Tier 4" rating granted by World Teleport Associates (WTA), it offers essential services for channel distribution using Hispasat's 30W and 61W satellite fleet. These services may include reception, processing, and/or uplink, as well as other additional services such as content reception, processing, and protection, and remote operation and monitoring, among others.
Cologne, Germany Teleport: certified with a "Tier 3" rating by World Teleport Associates (WTA), it offers channel distribution services through Hispasat's 30W satellite fleet. The services offered include reception, encoding, and multiplexing and/or uplink.
Hispasat, in its positioning strategy in the audiovisual markets, has strengthened its radio and TV distribution service offering by establishing agreements with strategic teleport operators, defining different shared digital platforms (SDPs) for the distribution of TV channels.
