HISPASAT extends its distribution services thanks to an agreement with Media Broadcast Satellite

14th November 2016

HISPASAT increases its transmission capacity with a new connection point from its 30° West orbital position.

Media Broadcast Satellite (MB Sat) will reinforce its current content distribution services on the basis of a new high-performance platform and the competitive infrastructure of the Spanish operator.

HISPASAT and German telecommunications service provider Media Broadcast Satellite have reached an agreement to provide television distribution services throughout Europe, North Africa and the Middle East (EMEA). Through this agreement, both companies will extend their strong commercial services, aiming to achieve maximum flexibility for those television operators that wish to provide their signal to these regions in a quick and simple way.

HISPASAT is thus offering a great opportunity for all audiovisual content producers seeking to distribute their signals either direct-to-home (DTH) or indirectly. By transporting these signals through cable leads or terrestrial broadcasting, the Spanish operator allows producers to optimise transmission not only in terms of power, but also in terms of bandwidth consumption.

In doing so, Media Broadcast Satellite has joined the teleport operators that already offer HISPASAT’s solution of Shared Digital Platforms from the 30° West orbital position and Media Broadcast Satellite strengthens its activities in the B2B market based on a new DVB-S2 platforms and competitive infrastructure on Spanish satellite operator.

The heart of this new platform is located in the Media Broadcast Satellite teleport in the German city of Usingen (in the picture).
